Two held for stealing, killing pet dog

Mumbai: Two persons were arrested for allegedly stealing and killing a pet dog of their neighbor in Mumbai, police said on Thursday.

Lalorani Imduin and Mishag Chinautram, hailing from Manipur, were apprehended on Wednesday night in suburban Santacruz. after police acted on a complaint filed by one Santosh Shetty whose four-year-old Labrador dog went missing on Monday.

Shetty approached police last evening and registered an FIR under IPC Section 379 (theft) and relevant sections of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
