Uma mum as BJP deadline ends
Uma has decided to reply to the show cause notice served by the party at a public meeting in Sadalatpur on Sunday.

New Delhi: The fiery sanyasin was silent as a 'lamb' as the deadline for replying to the showcause issued by the BJP ended on Saturday.

Suspended BJP leader Uma Bharti was on a Maun Vrat (vow of silence) on the last day of offering a reply to a show cause notice for disciplinary action against her and supporting MLAs.

She has decided to reply to the show cause notice served by the party at a public meeting in Sadalatpur on Sunday, her loyalist and former Madhya Pradesh Minister Sunil Nayak said.

Defending her unlikely silence, Nayak said, "Umaji has not sent any reply to the show cause notice as she did not receive any response from the BJP on the issues raised by her though the 24-hour time period set for the purpose is over."

"Now Umaji would give her reply through the public meeting as no response has been received from the BJP on promising an ideology based system of working in the party, societal balance among functionaries and ban on off-the-record briefing," he said.

Protesting against Party high command's decision of ignoring her claims and choosing Shivraj Singh Chauhan as Chief Minister, Uma and her supporters had walked out of the BJP Legislature Party meet on November 28 .

Immediately afterwards, she announced setting off on Ram-Roti Yatra to Ayodhya.

The BJP Parliamentary Board suspended Bharti on November 30 for anti-party activities. A show cause notice was served asking her to explain?within three days?why she should not be expelled from the party.

On the sixth day of her yatra, the sadhvi took a break from the yatra and was resting at a farmhouse at Sadalatpur in Raisen district.
