Verdict 2014: Six candidates won with a margin of over 3 lakh votes
The BJP secured victory in 27 out of 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. The party's decision to field new faces in the constituencies became a great success. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan credited Modi's charismatic leadership for BJP's spectacular win while also pointing at the large number of follies committed by the UPA government.

The BJP secured victory in 27 out of 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. The party's decision to field new faces in the constituencies became a great success. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan credited Modi's charismatic leadership for BJP's spectacular win while also pointing at the large number of follies committed by the UPA government.

According to the Election Commission data, in vote share, Congress stood at second position, still it could manage to win only two Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Here's the list of candidates who won with a victory margin of over 3 lakh:

4 lakh and above:

Sumitra Mahajan (Indore): 4,66,901

Sushma Swaraj (Vidisha): 4,10,698

Between 3 and 4 lakh:

Udaypratap Singh (Hoshangabad): 3,89,960 Alok Sanjar (Bhopal) 3,70,696

Jyoti Dhurve (Betul): 3,28,614

Chintaman Malviya (Ujjain): 3,09,663

Sudhir Gupta(Mandsaur): 3,03649

Riding the Narendra Modi 'wave', BJP virtually wiped out Congress in Madhya Pradesh as it won 27 of thelece 29 Lok Sabha seats in the statnewse.

In vote share Congress stood at second position, still it could manage to win just two Lok Sabha seats. The consolation wins for Congress came in the Chhindwara and Guna Lok Sabha seats where Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia, respectively, managed to seal the issue. Congress with a vote share of 34.9 per cent managed to garner 10340274 votes, where as BJP was way ahead with 54 per cent vote share and managed to get 16015685 votes.

Senior BJP leader and former Union minister Sumitra Mahajan won from Indore for her eighth consecutive term by the highest margin of 4,66,901 votes. She was followed by Sushma Swaraj who retained Vidisha for a second term by a record margin of 4,10,698 votes.
