Follow us:WhatsappFacebookTwitterTelegram.cls-1{fill:#4d4d4d;}.cls-2{fill:#fff;}Google NewsDecember 2006 marked the anniversary of a news channel that has done "whatever it takes" to ensure that Indian citizens and netizens alike are not deprived of quality and professional journalism.

No one is perfect and though there will be people who would argue scope of improvement for Rajdeep and his team of distinguished journalists, the heights reached by the channel in mere one year's time is simply commendable.

Celebrating the anniversary in style, I have penned down a poem with the punch line "Whatever it takes".

Now, no guesses for identifying the punch line "Whatever it takes".

Join me in congratulating CNN-IBN for a successful year and hope to expect quality journalism in coming years.

Whatever it takes, the famous CNN-IBN punch line,Dons varied perceptions and evokes diverse emotions from time to time; Whatever it takes instills a sense of commitment, And rejuvenates us Indians who have surrendered to their predicament; The next few lines will showcase its effect as a satire, And target issues, which have engulfed India in its fire; For, whatever it takes, our government will always be oblivious to our pains, And make sure they create enough hatred amongst its citizens for personal gains; Whatever it takes, our Government will be soft on terrorism, And blatantly support SIMI despite proofs and severe criticism; Whatever it takes, Arjun Singh will press hard for reservation till his last breath, Irrespective of India witnessing the advent of intellectual death; Whatever it takes, Ramadoss will do anything to control AIIMS, To see the premier medical institute involved in Machiavellian games; Whatever it takes, Government will pass the Office of Profit bill, Providing a unique example of unconstitutional behavior against the President's will; Whatever it takes, opposition will disrupt the parliamentary proceedings throughout the day, Instead of thinking about the nation and resolving issues in an amicable way; Whatever it takes, Chappell will continue with his experiments in one-dayers, Leaving the Men in Blue at the mercy of our prayers; Whatever it takes, Afzal's hanging will continue to be politicised, For people supporting him (especially Farooq Abdullah) are anti-nationals and should be ostracised; Whatever it takes, Government will do nothing to prevent farmers' mass suicide, Instead it will continue Minority appeasement and create the Hindu-Muslim divide; Despite all this, there is not all hope lost, For, whatever it takes, we shall pledge to fight against injustice at all cost; Jessica Lall murder case is a prime example where media created the Rang De Basanti fire, And did, whatever it takes, to see Manu Sharma face public and judiciary ire; Whatever it takes, the judiciary is showing signs of taking on the corrupt leaders, And helping in this noble cause is the media, which is doing a great job in educating its readers; Still a lot of improvement could be done if we as citizens take up the fight, And throw out corrupt, greedy politicians by voting in elections, our most fundamental right; Whatever it takes, let's act as responsible citizens in the New Year, And create an atmosphere free from hatred and fear; Let us understand the insidious plans of the selfish leaders of divide and rule, And do whatever it takes to maintain harmony and cool; Let us do our bit to alleviate the pains of the poor and the needy, And respect every Indian without being selfish and greedy; For there is nothing pleasing than a smiling face, Which in this nuclear world of wars is the only saving grace; Let us hope and wish 2007 realises the true meaning of "India Shining", And do whatever it takes to see every Indian smiling.

Indian all the way.
