BANGALORE: Finding parking in Bangalore, is like finding a needle in a hay stack. While space still is an issue, the hassle of carrying the exact change for parking may well be done away with, thanks to the Central Parking Service’s (CPS) One Card & Pay on Foot System. ‘Parking Summit, 2011’ which will be held on September 9, is a conference that will address the problems related to parking. It will discuss relevant topics such as the efficient use of technology to aid parking. With the CPS card, all one needs to do is top up the card and it can be swiped at the parking spots in any of the malls in the city. The amount due for parking will automatically be deducted from the card,” said Satyanarayanan, MD, CPS.He also added that one of the new malls that will be coming up on MG Road will be the first mall in the city that will have a fully automatic parking facility. “Instead of a manned kiosk, it will have a machine that will hand out a ticket and then collect the change as well. Those with the CPS card can swipe in and out,” he added.Speakers such as Luis Miranda, chairman, IDFC Private Equity and Jonathan Yach, CEO-PropCare Mall Management, Mantri Square and Printo Antony, Head of Asia Pacific Markets, Scheidt & Bachmann, Germany will also talk at the summit. The card will be launched during the summit and can be purchased from any of the CPS centres.
