From prints of postcards around the world last season, to a 'Love Story' at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015; Rixi Bhatia and Jayesh Sachdev of ‘QuirkBox’ moved onto a different fashionable path.
Known for their eye-catching prints, the duo once again created a mélange from original art visuals, inspired by an enchanting setting for a love story in the forest, during days gone by. Adding contemporary graphic visuals with modern typography, the designers brought in the magic of colour with jewel tones of aquamarine, emerald, ruby, amethyst and onyx.
Prints and patchwork came together seamless for long striped dresses, soft shirts, tunics, pencil skirts and soft unstructured coats. A colourful romantic garden print with flora and fauna was blended beautifully with each garment.
The two finale multi striped maxis were the perfect end with the words LOVE and PYAR (in Devanagari script) for this “Love Story”.
The pair selected a rich fabric base, which featured silks, crêpes, georgettes and Chanderis. To add more excitement there was clever colour blocking to balance the prints and texture details. As always the silhouettes were easy on the body and fluid but with a touch of Indian sensibilities. Lovers of prints will adore the romantic “Love Story” collection by Rixi Bhatia and Jayesh Sachdev of ‘QuirkBox’.
