To make wheat flour idli at home, you need the following ingredients – one cup wheat flour, one teaspoon coriander powder, one carrot, half teaspoon finely chopped ginger, two green chillies, some unfermented curd, baking soda, one and a half teaspoon coriander powder, coriander leaves, curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, oil, salt and water.

Steps to make wheat flour idli:

-Take a pan, heat it, and add the wheat flour to it. You have to keep roasting it, till it starts to give out a fragrance. When it is roasted well, keep it aside in a bowl to cool it.

-Take another pan and heat oil in it and then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, chopped ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, curry leaves and grated carrot, and saute it. After cooking the vegetable, keep it aside for 5 minutes to let it cool.

-After that, take the roasted wheat, add water to it, and mix well. Then add the unfermented curd, salt, and baking soda to the idli batter, mix well, and make sure there are no lumps in the mixture.

-Add the cooked vegetables to the batter and mix well. Your idli batter is ready to be cooked.

-Take the idli steamer, and let the water boil for a few minutes. Then grease a plate, spread the idli batter, and let it steam for about 15 to 20 minutes. Your wheat flour idli is ready to be eaten.

It can be served with any side of your choice like tomato onion chutney, sambhar, and coconut chutney.
