Good eye health is extremely integral for the proper functioning of the human body. However, with a hectic schedule being followed by almost everyone in today’s time, it becomes nearly impossible to ensure proper care for the eyes. People are constantly surrounded by many electronic devices, i.e.- laptops, computers, etc. and end up damaging their eyesight. This space articulates how implementing simple eye care tips can help protect your eyes.
1. Taking breaks in between- Employees who spend long hours working on their computers and laptops should stop looking at the screens for some time. This will ensure ample rest for their eyes. Also, people should blink constantly while working on these devices so that their eyes do not get dry.
2. Rubbing hands- A simple exercise that can lessen eye fatigue is to rub the palms for a while and immediately put them on the eyes. However, it should be done occasionally and it is not advisable to touch the eyes frequently.
3. Looking at things placed far away: People should look at things that are placed far away and not those that are placed closer. Failing to do that can cause discomfort to the eyes and reduce myopia. Myopia is the medical name for nearsightedness. This means that you can see objects that are near clearly but have difficulty seeing objects that are farther away. Users should consult a doctor if they are facing symptoms such as blurred vision, eye pain, or dazzling lights flashing in front of the eyes.
4. Regular eye check-ups: Users should get their health checkups done with the doctor if their eyes are very dry. They should also take the advice of a medical professional and get their eyes tested if using eye drops, spectacles and contact lenses. People should also not avoid consuming water and other fluids and should take them as per the body’s requirements.
5. Taking Vitamin A: Vitamin A is found in carrots, fresh fruits, green vegetables, milk and egg yolks. It is good for eye health. These food products also contain Vitamins C and E present which can prevent many eye-related ailments.
