Aditya Chopra, the man who has given India Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, has only worked with Shah Rukh Khan in his films. The backbone of Yash Raj Films, the man of few words, has made SRK a poster-boy of romantic films in Bollywood. His films are always heaped in Indian culture and more importantly highlights Punjab for its culture, locales.
So it is a refreshing change to see Chopra working with a new actor in his latest Befikre. Set in Paris, the film is a new-age rom-com featuring YRF's current favourite Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor. The film has grabbing eyeballs ever since its first poster started doing the rounds of social media. In all of them, the lead pair is seen kissing. The film is supposed to be about Shyra and Dharam who, although like each other's company, are not wanting to be in a long-term, serious relationship.
The film is being touted as the big release of the year with Aditya Chopra directing for the first time post his father, late filmmaker Yash Chopra's death. Will Aditya and Ranveer be able to make a hit film? Is Befikre in tune with today's idea of romance? Shomini Sen of News18.com was inside the theatre to find out.
