Biju Menon-starrer Suraj Nadanna Sambavam’s Promo Song Out

The upcoming Malayalam film Nadanna Sambavam, starring Biju Menon and Suraj Venjaramoodu, is making waves with a newly-released promo song. The track cleverly pokes fun at the world of online yellow journalism. The comedy-drama, directed by Vishnu Narayanan, uses the song as a creative critique of the sensationalist practices often seen in modern digital news reporting. In the promo song, we can see that Sudhi Koppa plays a journalist, comically nicknamed Linkan. He is obsessed with generating news from every scenario he comes across. Accompanied by a character disguised as a security camera, Linkan’s antics showcase his penchant for intruding into the lives of others and turning trivial events into headline-grabbing stories.

Linkan’s antics take a turn when he is caught by a group of people for his intrusive behaviour, after which another media outlet sensationalises the incident and reports his confrontation with the public. This meta-narrative humorously highlights the cycle of sensationalism in the media. Nadanna Sambavam promises a light-hearted take on the world of news and journalism, mixing humour with social commentary. The film’s lead cast includes Biju Menon, Lijo Mol Jose, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Shruti Ramachandran, along with Johny Antony, Lalu Alex and Sudhi Koppa.

The recently released teaser introduces us to Linkan’s wife, who proudly explains her husband’s good qualities to her friends. The film is a satire that pokes fun at how society is conditioned to take people at face when they act out in public.

The film also stars Sruthi Ramachandran, Lijomol Jose, Sudhy Koppa and Johny Antony. The film is directed by Vishnu Narayanan, who previously directed the successful Tovino Thomas’ Maradona (2018). Nadanna Sambavam is scripted by Rajesh Gopinathan, of Kali (2016) fame. Manesh Madhavan is handling the cinematography while Ankit Menon is responsible for the music of the film. Nadanna Sambavam is scheduled to hit the theatres on March 22.
