Director Sanoj Mishra's The Diary Of West Bengal To Release On This Date
In an interview with a media portal in Mumbai, director Sanoj talked about the difficulties faced while directing this film.

The Diary of West Bengal, written and directed by Sanoj Mishra, will release at the cinema halls on August 30, 2024. The film claims to show incidents of violent attacks against Hindus and love jihad. For those who don’t know about love jihad, a conspiracy theory that says Muslims are luring Hindu women into marriage. In an interview with a media portal in Mumbai, director Sanoj talked about the difficulties faced while directing this film. The Ghaznavi director said that they had to put in a lot of hard work to get The Diary of West Bengal released in comparison to directing this film. According to him, many scenes and sequences of the film had to be reshot. Sanoj said that he had submitted the film to the Censor Board for review a long time back. According to the filmmaker, he had to wait for a significant time for the Censor Board’s clearance. Finally, the director said that his film has now received the go-ahead to be released in all theatres. The Diary of West Bengal’s music is available on Zee Music. The Diary of West Bengal stars Yajur Marwah, Arshin Mehta, Gauri Shankar, Dev Fauzdar and others in important roles. Satypal Singh is the cinematographer for this film, while A R Datta has scored the music. The trailer of this film was released on January 29, 2024, on YouTube and has garnered more than 11 Lakh views to date.

On Friday, May 26, 2023, the Kolkata Police registered a case against the producer and director of this film. The police said that the trailer promoted enmity between the two groups. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed at Amherst police station. A legal notice was sent to Sanoj Mishra, summoning him before the investigating officer of the case on 30 May. According to the PTI, Sanoj claimed that the film was not about CM Banerjee. On the notice issued by the Kolkata Police, Mishra said he was consulting legal experts.
