Fans Upset After SEVENTEEN's Anniversary-Special Live Broadcast Is Deleted
Popular K-pop band SEVENTEEN celebrated its ninth debut anniversary on Sunday, May 26.

Popular K-pop boy band SEVENTEEN turned nine this year. The 13-member group, which debuted in 2015 with the extended play (EP) 17 Carat, quickly became a hit among fans. Thus, to celebrate their 9th debut anniversary on Sunday, May 26, SEVENTEEN held a special live broadcast to engage with their fans and thank them for their unwavering love and support. While the occasion was happy and exciting, the live broadcast was abruptly cut short, and fans noticed a few unexpected issues, leading to disappointment. Some fans even criticised the group for deleting the entire broadcast.

Many took to social media and expressed their dismay over the unsatisfactory atmosphere of the live broadcast. A fan wrote, “SEVENTEEN 9th Anniversary Live Problem, You guys do whatever you want and end the live, They deleted the live because it wasn’t enough to end it,” one wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). Many also pointed out how the staff always kept an eye on them every time the boys spoke and were pushed to do the live even though they were tired.

Fans believe the live was deleted after Hoshi hinted towards a spoiler but couldn’t clarify it in the video.

“Are you crazy about deleting the live?? Why are you doing this? I think they deleted the live because Hoshi spoiled it. So why don’t you delete all the videos that were spoiled? Did they spoil it once or twice? And it was going to come out in about 20 minutes anyway, so what’s wrong with spoiling it? The kids even gave bigger spoilers, so why don’t you get used to it now?” one wrote.

After all the backlash and criticism on the internet, the agency restored the video with the earlier cut-out ending. “SEVENTEEN 9th Anniversary Live was deleted but restored! They have added the last part and uploaded it again. I love you guys too,” a fan wrote while sharing a short clip from the restored video.
