Housefull is one of the most popular movie franchises, and ever since its fifth installment was announced, fans have been eagerly waiting for it. And now, there’s another good news for fans, as producer Sajid Nadiadwala is bringing another exciting announcement of Abhishek Bachchan joining back the star-studded cast.
The film stars Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Chunky Pandey in key roles. And now, with Abhishek Bachchan coming on board with his stellar comedic timing adding to the mix, fans can anticipate even more laughter and entertainment. Scheduled to start filming in the UK in August 2024, this installment promises to be an uproarious adventure.
Expressing his delight, Sajid Nadiadwala said, “I am thrilled to bring back Abhishek to the Housefull franchise. His dedication, comic timing, and sincerity will only elevate our film.”
Abhishek Bacchan, on the other hand, shared, “Housefull is one of my favourite comedy franchises, and coming back feels like returning home. It’s always been a great pleasure to work with Sajid Nadiadwala. I am looking forward to having mad fun on the sets with my fellow actors, Akshay and Ritesh. I’m also so excited to collaborate again with my dear friend Tarun Mansukhani. I’m really looking forward to working with him again after Dostana. This is going to be a lot of fun.”.
Housefull is also the first Hindi cinema franchise to reach the fifth instalment. All the films that have been released before have been super hits and have done exceptionally well at the box office. Housefull 5 is slated to hit the big screen on June 6, 2025.
The first Housefull movie was released in 2010 and starred Akshay Kumar with Jiah Khan, Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lara Dutta, and Chunky Panday in the lead. The second movie in the franchise hit theatres in 2012. On the other hand, Housefull 3 and 4 were released in 2016 and 2019, respectively. Housefull 5 will be directed by Tarun Mansukhani and hit theatres in 2024.
