Haryana lad Salman Ali has been declared the winner of singing reality show Indian Idol Season 10 with over 2 crore votes, while Ankush Bharadwaj was announced as the first runner and Neelanjana Ray stood second. Salman received applause by not just the social media users but also 'Zero star, Shah Rukh Khan, who praised him for his "earthly voice that truly represents India".
Ali, who hails from Haryana's Mewat, impressed the audience with his powerful performances throughout the season. He was not only praised by the judges — Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani, Javed Ali and former judge Anu Malik — but also the guests on the show and well-sought after singers.
At the finale on Sunday, Shah Rukh got Ali to sing 'Sajda' from his movie 'My Name is Khan', while he danced and lip-synched on the same.
Nitin Kumar and Vibhor Parashar were also in the finale of the show, which was hosted by Maniesh Paul. The star-studded grand finale also saw the presence of the Super Dancer 3 team. While Shilpa Shetty and Geeta Kapur promoted their upcoming show, TRP Mama Paritosh Tripathi interacted with the audience, leaving everyone present in splits.
