Janhvi Kapoor has confirmed that she was once replaced by Sara Ali Khan in a film. Recently, the actress was speaking to The Lallantop when she revealed the same and shared that the film has now been released as well. Janhvi was asked about the time when “you were fired from a film because you told people that you were a part of it”. To this, the actress admitted that it has happened to her in the past.
“Dekhiye voh film abhi kisi aur ne kar le hai, voh release ho gaye hai (Look, somebody else did that film and it has been released)”. Asked if she was replaced by Sara Ali Khan, Janvhi replied positively and said, “Ji (yes).”

Janhvi Kapoor’s statement has left everyone wondering if the actress is talking about Rohit Shetty’s movie Simmba which starred Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the lead. In 2018, several reports claimed that Janhvi was supposed to star in Simmba but was removed from the film after allegedly violating the terms of her contract.
Janhvi Kapoor made her acting debut with Dhadak in July 2018 i.e. seven months before Simmba hit theatres.

Meanwhile, Janhvi is currently gearing up for the release of Mr and Mrs Mahi. Directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, Mr and Mrs Mahi will see Janhvi as a budding cricketer.
Recently, the actress opened up about her intense training for the film when she recalled how she used to practise every day for hours at a ground in Bandra. “When I started prepping for the film – during Mili promotions – I was 8-9 kilos heavier. Sharan was very stressed. He said, ‘You don’t look like a cricketer and if you really want to do this film, you need to lose weight and need to start training in cricket. Mere jo coach they, Abhishek Nayar, who was my coach, said, ‘Jis tarah ki training aapke saath ki gayi hi, humare IPL players ke saath bhi nahi ki jaati – itna intense tha'(The kind of training that was done with you, even our IPL players don’t get – it was that intense). I used to practise in the nets with KKR players, who got recently recruited,” she said during the trailer launch of the film.
Mr And Mrs Mahi is all set to hit theatres on May 31, 2024.
