The film Kalki 2898 AD has been in the news for a long time now. The film has reportedly recorded a massive non-theatrical business even before its theatrical release. According to various reports, the film has already earned Rs 375 crore from selling its rights to different OTT platforms.
Netflix has reportedly signed a deal worth Rs 200 crore for the Hindi version of the film, while on the other hand, Amazon Prime Video has reportedly acquired the rights to the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions in a deal worth around Rs 175 crore.
As per reports, more than half of Kalki 2898 AD budget has already been recovered following the massive OTT deals. According to reports, the highly anticipated Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas has opened the window for advance ticket booking. Within 24 hours, over 2 lakh tickets have already been sold in India worth around Rs 6 crore. The film has also made a significant business overseas.
Around 1,95,000 tickets across 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D formats have already been sold for the Telugu version. The Hindi version recorded ticket sales of more than 7,000. The film has also gained a massive buzz outside India. As per reports, more than 1,13,000 tickets have been already pre-booked. Tickets worth around $3 million (approximately Rs 25 crore) have already been sold in North America.
Kalki 2898 AD is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 27. The much-awaited film has garnered a massive craze among the audience. The film is directed by popular director Nag Ashwin. It features many well-known faces of the Indian entertainment industry like Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Keerthy Suresh, Saswata Chatterjee and Rajendra Prasad. The film is produced by C Aswani Dutt, Priyanka Dutt, and Swapna Dutt while the the music is directed by Santhosh Narayanan. Singers like Kailash Kher and Sunidhi Chauhan lend their voices in the film.
