Kalki Koechlin, who became a mother to baby girl Sappho with her partner Guy Hershberg, loves sharing glimpses of her life on social media. From travel adventures to cozy family moments, the Bollywood star keeps her fans updated. Recently, Kalki posted about her daughter’s newly found love for a pet, inspired by Alia Bhatt’s book Ed Finds a Home. Taking to her Instagram story, the Death in the Gunj star shared a page from the book featuring a little girl introducing a lost dog to her father. In the post, Kalki jokingly accused Alia for causing trouble at her home, as Sappho now demands a sweet dog like Ed. Amused by the post, Alia responded with multiple laugh emojis.
The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress made her debut as an author in June 2024 by launching a children’s picture book. The story, which explores the bond between a child and a pet, shows how the dog helps the little girl become the best version of herself. Meanwhile, taking to her Instagram story, Kalki wrote, “Uh oh you got us in trouble Alia Bhatt. Now Sappho wants Ed in our home.”
While Kalki Koechlin is an avid reader herself, she has made it a habit to read books to her daughter. In an earlier interview with Hindustan Times, the actress said, “It is important to read to kids at that age. I try to find books for her which are out of the ordinary like The Women I Could Be by Sangita Yogi, where Sangita talks about different kinds of women through her drawings. I have also inherited all the books that my grandmother sent us and my mother kept them all these years. Those are in French. For some reason, she’s very attracted to all the artist books that I have.”
Kalki continues the tradition of oral storytelling by sharing stories with her daughter, even when she is busy with work and traveling. To keep their bedtime routine special, the actress sends Sappho audio stories while she’s away.
Kalki Koechlin and Alia Bhatt shared screens in Gully Boy. While Kalki last appeared in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, Alia was seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Both the diva’s are currently busy working on multiple projects.
