KBC 16: Season’s 1st Contestant Fails To Answer This Rs 25 Lakh Question

Amitabh Bachchan has returned to TV as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. The sixteenth season of the quiz show started airing yesterday, August 12, with a grand premiere episode. Bengaluru-based Utkarsh Baxi was the first participant on the show. In the game, the engineer provided appropriate answers to the questions. He lost a Mahabharat question worth Rs 25 lakh. Let’s find out what the question was. Amitabh Bachchan got impressed by Utkarsh Baxi’s knowledge and amazing music talent. After winning Rs 12.50 lakh, Big B asked him the Rs 25 lakh question on Mahabharat.The question was: “According to the Mahabharata, which god gifted a garland to Amba, and said whoever wears it will be the one to kill Bhishma?”

The options were A) Lord Shiva, B) Lord Kartikeya, C) Lord Indra, and D) Lord Vayu.

After hearing the question, Utkarsh decided to use his ‘video call a friend’ lifeline. He called his friend. He gave him option A as an answer. Utkarsh was quite unsure about it. Hence, he took his final lifeline, Double Dip.

Utkarsh Baxi initially chose option A—Lord Shiva, which turned out to be the wrong one. Later, he said option D—Lord Vayu. Sadly, the second answer was also wrong. Due to his overconfidence, Utkarsh Baxi lost Rs 25 lakh and came down to Rs 3.20 lakh. The correct answer was Option B, Lord Kartikeya. Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 has some new changes in the game. The creators have introduced ‘Super Sawaal’ and ‘Dugnaastra’. The contestant will get a chance to double the amount by attempting to answer super sawaal.

The creators previously uploaded a promotional video of the show in which Amitabh Bachchan said that there are at least ten cameras on site and that every move is being recorded. He jokingly stated, “Bada complicated hai ye set, Hazzaro light hai,computer se chalti hai. Camera has 10-12 Koi kuch bhi karoge, padka jayega (the set is quite complicated; there are 1000 lights operated with computers). There are about 10-12 cameras. Everything will get recorded.” The caption along with the promo read, “KBC mein itne cameras hain, ki har masti-bhara pal hota hai capture! (KBC has so many cameras that every fun-filled moment gets captured)”.

The first season of Kaun Banega Crorepati premiered in 2000, with Amitabh Bachchan as host. Except for the 2006 third season, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan has appeared on the show on a regular basis.
