Bigg Boss 17 alum Mannara Chopra is facing flak on social media after she shared a sensual dance video in which she enjoyed the rains. On Monday, Mannara shared a video on Instagram in which she was seen dancing in her balcony. Sporting a tank top with a pair of pants, Mannara was seen truly embracing the first rains of Mumbai this year. However, the video has not gone down well with many social media users. Several netizens pointed out that the video is insensitive, especially since the Monday rains wrecked havoc in the city.
For the unversed, Mumbai received a surprise spell of rain. The city witnessed a horrific dust storm which was followed by rains. Although a short period of rain, it wrecked havoc in the city. Several trees were uprooted and a massive billboard also came crashing down on a petrol pump station in Ghatkopar, killing 14 people (at the time of reporting). Amid this, Mannara shared the video with the caption, “Enjoying the first rain !!☔️ inbetween a shoot day #pehlibaarish.”
The video was shared by several fan clubs and entertainment platforms, and Mannara has been getting a lot of flak. Many pointed out that while she enjoyed the rain in the balcony, many who were on the road at the time suffered. “In very poor taste. Not appreciated,” a comment read. “(So many) people dead she enjoying,” another social media user wrote. “Log mar Gaye aur (tu) dance kar rahi hai,” another angry user wrote.
Mannara Chopra hails from Ambala, Haryana. She is the cousin of Bollywood divas Parineeti and Priyanka Chopra. Mannara’s mother, who is a jewellery designer by profession, is the sister of Parineeti and Priyanka’s fathers. Mannara’s father is a lawyer. She also has a younger sister named Mitali. She became a household name after she appeared on Bigg Boss 17. She was among the top 5 finalists.
