John Mulaney and Olivia Munn are now officially married. The Saturday Night Live alum and the X-Men: Apocalypse actress said “I do” in a small, private wedding held at a friend’s house in New York state over the weekend, according to PEOPLE. The list of attendees was in fact reduced to only their 2-year-old son Malcolm Hiep and Law and Order star Sam Waterston, who served as the witness. The announcement was made four months after Munn revealed in March that she had received a “terrifying” breast cancer diagnosis.
Munn was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in 2023 and during that time, she discovered fast-growing and aggressive type called luminal B, which affected both breasts. She shared that cancer doesn’t discriminate based on circumstances or schedules. To combat the disease, she underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. In the last ten months, she had four surgeries and also had a hysterectomy in April 2024.
Appreciating John Mulaney for being her side during the tough times, Olivia Munn said, “It would’ve felt like climbing an iceberg without him. I don’t think he had a moment to himself, between being an incredibly hands-on father and going to and from the hospital, taking Malcolm to the park, putting him to nap, driving to Cedars-Sinai, hanging out with me, going home, putting Malcolm to bed, coming back to me and he did it all happily.”
Munn and Mulaney’s relationship first came to light in May 2021 and later, in September, the former NSL host announced on Late Night with Seth Meyers that they were expecting a baby together. Earlier this year, rumours about their marriage started circulating on the internet when Mulaney posted a photo of himself wearing a wedding ring, which he was quick to remove later. Meanwhile, the two have been together since 2021, after Mulaney got separated from his ex-wife, Anna Marie Tendler, after nearly 7 years of marriage.
Talking about his meeting with Olivia Munn after being sober, Mulaney speaking with Meyers had said, “I got into this relationship that’s been really beautiful with someone incredible who has dealt with the non-Coked up Bambi version of me. And that’s been very incredible, and she’s kind of held my hand through that hell, and we’re having a baby together. We’re both really, really happy.”
Before getting married, Munn was focused on filming her upcoming Apple TV series, Your Friends and Neighbors. Meanwhile, John Mulaney had just finished his live Netflix show, Everybody’s in LA*, and kept himself busy with his ongoing comedy tour.
