Darshan Thoogudeep, popularly known as the Challenging Star by the fans, is celebrating his 47th birthday on Friday. Fans from all over Bengaluru have lined up at Darshan’s residence and are eager to meet him. A sumptuous meal has been arranged for feeding approximately 30,000 fans which includes vegetable pulao, chilli bajji, Mysore pak, and sambar rice.
Besides these delicacies, two tonnes of rice, 500 litres of curd and 1,000 litres of milk have also been served to Darshan’s fans. This lavish ceremony reportedly continued till 02:00 p.m. Darshan’s followers have also tweeted their photos along with the Saarathi actor.

A media portal tweeted a video of Darshan greeting and shaking hands with the fans. As seen in the video, there was a commotion as some of the fans kept clicking pictures with the actor. Darshan and his bodyguards faced a tough time dealing with the followers.

Darshan is currently at the peak of his career and has received adulation from the fans for his acting credentials. He has become one of the prominent figures in the Kannada entertainment industry with the films Bul Bul, Yajamana, Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna, and others. Darshan, however, had to face a lot of hardships in the initial phase of his career. He had to work as a lightman and a cinematographer as well during the initial phase of his career. He had to struggle to get cameo roles in the Kannada daily soaps.
He propelled to prominence with the 2002 film Majestic directed by PN Sathya. Before Majestic, he acted in many other films as well but none could achieve the same amount of success as Majestic. Post Majestic, Darshan’s career again slumped for a short time. He, however, again scored a hit with the film Kariya directed by Prem. Kariya was called one of the best films made on the underworld in the Kannada film industry.
Darshan then continued to entertain the audience with films like Kalasipalya, Anatharu, etc. His latest film to become a box-office success is the film Kaatera.
