Tamil film producer Dilli Babu passed away early on September 9 in Chennai. He was 50 years old. According to sources, he died at approximately 12.30 am, and his sudden passing has shocked the Tamil film industry. Dilli Babu had been admitted to a private hospital for an illness, but further details are awaited. The producer’s body will be taken to his home in Perungalathur, Chennai, around 10:30 am for public homage. His funeral is set to take place later today at 4.30 pm.

Producer SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures expressed sadness over the demise of Dilli Babu. His post read, “Deeply saddened by the loss of producer #Dillibabu of @AxessFilm Factory . So many young and new talents were supported by him. A big loss to film industry. My condolences to the friends and family! Rest in Peace!! (sic).”
Director ARK Saravan posted on X. His post, translated from Tamil, read, “Dilli Babu sir (heartbreak emoji). He gave me life through the film Maragadha Nanayam. Tamil cinema has lost a good human being, good producer and a good achiever like him. My heart refuses to believe it. #RIP Dillibabu Sir.. (sic).”
Dilli Babu, through his production company Axess Film Factory, produced hits like Ratsasan and Maragadha Naanayam. He started as a producer in 2015 with Urumeen and worked on films like Maragadha Naanayam, Iravukku Aayiram Kangal, Ratsasan, Oh My Kadavule, Bachelor, Miral, and Kalvan. He also had more Tamil projects in progress.
