Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput worked together in the 2018 movie Kedarnath. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the film was a romantic drama set in the backdrop of the deadly 2013 North India floods. In the film, SSR played the role of a Muslim man named Mansoor Khan who fell in love with the daughter of a Hindu priest, Sara Ali Khan.
Sara has always that Sushant and the Kedarnath movie will always be very special to her. Last year too, Sara penned down an emotional note on Sushant’s death anniversary when she wrote, “On our way to Kedarnath for the first time. On my way to shoot for the first time. And I know neither are ever going to feel the same again. But somewhere between action, cut, sunrise, rivers, clouds, moonlight, Kedarnath and Allah Hoo I know you’re there. Keep shining amongst your stars From Kedarnath to Andromeda.”
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment in June 2020. While some suspected to be a case of death by suicide, others had alleged foul play. His family members are still demanding justice. Earlier today, his sister also penned down an emotional note and asked for justice for her brother.
“Bhai, it has been 4 years since you left us, and we still don’t know what transpired on June 14, 2020. Your death remains a mystery. I feel helpless and have pleaded with the authorities countless times for the truth. I’m losing my patience and feel like giving up. But today, for one last time, I want to ask everyone who can help with the case to put your hand on your heart and ask yourself: don’t we deserve to know what happened to our brother Sushant? Why has it become a political agenda? Why can’t it be as straightforward as stating what was found that day and what is believed to have happened? PLEASE, I am requesting and pleading—help us move forward as a family. Give us the closure we deserve,” she wrote.
