The ‘Jab We Met’ actor shared that he had turned down the 2006 hit film ‘Rang De Basanti’ and that he regrets it.
During an appearance on Neha Dhupia’s talk show, BFFs With Vogue, the actor revealed why he had turned down Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s 2006 film Rang De Basanti. Expressing his regret, he shared that he was offered the role of Karan Singhania, which was eventually played by Siddharth. He had to back out of the film due to his other commitments.
Shahid shared, “I regret not doing the film. They wanted me to play the role of Siddharth. I’d cried while reading the script and loved it, but unfortunately, I couldn’t make time for it.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid Kapoor is currently basking in the success of Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya with Kriti Sanon. After registering a decent start at the box office, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya has crossed Rs 50 crore at the box office.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is a romantic drama that revolves around Shahid, who introduces Kriti to his family, unaware of the fact that the lady he has fallen in love with is a robot. The film also has a cameo appearance by Janhvi Kapoor.
Recently, Kriti spilled the beans on whether the film will have part two. On the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, a fan asked Kriti, “When can we expect part 2 #TBMAUJ?” The actress replied, “With All the love pouring in, I’m sure Amit & Aradhana (writers & directors) are compelled to write Part 2 soooonnnn! ❤️.”
Directed by debut directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the film has a runtime of 143.15 minutes, or 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 15 seconds. It was granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
