Sydney Sweeney Dismisses Dating Reports With Glen Powell, Calls It 'The Craziest Rumour'

Ever since Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell started filming for the 2023 film Anyone But You, their on-screen and off-screen chemistry has been sparking a lot of dating rumours time and again. Pictures from the film’s sets went viral on social media and fans couldn’t help but draw a connection between the two stars. While both Sweeney and Powell have clarified their relationship multiple times, the White Lotus recently delivered an epic response, shutting down the rumours once and for all.

In reaction to the ongoing rumours about her relationship with her Anyone But You co-star, Sweeney in a hilarious opening monologue at Saturday Night Live, called it the “craziest” thing that she had heard.

“The craziest rumour I’ve seen is that while I was filming Anyone But You, I was having an affair with my co-star Glen Powell. That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiance (Jonathan Davino) produced the movie together and he was there the entire shoot. And I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams and we’re still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me,” she said while asking to cut to him; however, to only leave the audience in splits.

The camera panned to show none other than Gowell who was there in the audience, looking quite surprised.

“That’s not my fiancé!” the actress quipped and added, “He’s in my dressing room and we have a great show for you tonight!”

It was during the shooting of their 2023 rom-com that the Top Gun: Maverick actor and Sweeney’s relationship came under scrutiny. While their bonding on the film’s sets gave birth to the rumours, it further got heightened after Powell ended his relationship with Gigi Hadid in April 2023. Around the same time, Davino was also spotted moving out of Sweeney’s Los Angeles residence with their dog and luggage. However, the actors continued to shut down the speculations.

Talking to Variety in August last year, the actress said, “It’s a rom-com. That’s what people want! Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.”

On the other hand, Powell while speaking to Business Insider credited the dynamics of their chemistry to Sydney, acknowledging her skills in addressing such situations. He also clarified that their connection didn’t extend to real-life dating.
