Taapsee Pannu is happily married to her long-term beau, Mathias Boe. However, when Taapsee first met Mathias, her friends warned her to be careful. Taapsee was in India and Mathias was in Denmark. The two met in Dubai for their first date and Taapsee’s friends were worried about her safety and warned her not to let Mathias “sell” her to a Sheikh.
Taapsee Pannu told Raunaq Rajani on his show Relationshit Advice, “We met around like, say, 10-11 years back and then he proposed to me a year after we met. That was very quick. Yeah, nine years of engagement, none of us changed our minds and we still believe that we can stay together for most of our lives, yeah.”
When asked about the craziest thing she has done for love, Taapsee said, “That has been… For the first date, cross-continent or rather cross-country, first date when you don’t know the other person at all, that has been the craziest thing I’ve ever done for anybody. He proposed to me saying that I would like to take you on a date either in Denmark or Dubai. Because these are the two places I know very well. So, I said, who will go to Denmark? Schengen visa, oh my God.”
She added, “I was like, why is this guy interested in me? First of all, our confidence, being from this part of the world, we always feel like, you’re a white person, why would he be interested in us? That tiny bit of inferiority complex is there at all times anyway.”
“So, I went there and then my friends were like, “You take care of yourself.” Don’t let him sell you. I’m not kidding. My friends actually gave me… My best friend’s sister stays in Dubai. So, she gave me her number and I don’t know, if he’s selling me to a Sheikh, she won’t be able to stop the deal, right? He turned out to be a good guy. That’s why 10-11 years passed. I’m sure I would still want to stay with him,” Taapsee said.
Meanwhile, Taapsee will now be seen in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. Picking up where the first film Haseen Dillruba left off, the story follows Rani Kashyap and Rishabh Saxena as they seek a fresh start in the vibrant city of Agra. With authorities on their trail and drops of blood marking their path, their quest takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of Sunny Kaushal’s character, Abhimanyu, introducing a fresh layer of intrigue to the drama. The lovers find new enemies with Jimmy Shergill and many more who want to foil their plans of ‘happily ever after.’
