The film we are talking about here is Pelli Sandadi. It was released in 1996. The film reportedly collected more than Rs 11 crore, but the theatre tickets of the film started from just Rs 5. The price of the tickets went up to Rs 30 in some theatres. The price still looks very cheap as compared to the prices of today. As per media reports, the film was made with a budget of Rs 1.5 crore. It was a massive hit at that time. Audiences flocked in large numbers to watch the film at the theatres.
Pelli Sandadi was directed by famous director K Raghavendra Rao. The film featured well-known actors like Shrikanth, Ravali, Deepti Bhatnagar, Tanikella Bharani, Brahmanandam, Raja Ravindra, Kaikala Satyanarayana and Babu Mohan. It was produced by Allu Aravind, while the music was composed by MM Keeravani. The film received five state Nandi Awards, and a Filmfare Award Telugu for Best Music. The film was later remade in Hindi and was named Mere Sapno Ki Rani in 1997.
