Film maker Anurag Kashyap has denied the rumours of 'Udta Punjab' being banned by the Censor Board.
The producer of the film took to twitter to clarify the state of the film. Kashyap wrote, "Udta Punjab" is not banned. The examining committe has deferred the decision to Revising and due process is on. And due process takes it own time so please abstain for spreading a BAN rumour. There is nothing to speak on the subject as of now. A film is banned only when examining, revising and FCAT all three refuse certificate . And then you fight it out in Supreme Court."

The news of 'Udta Punjab' banned by the Censor Board came as a shock and the fans took to social media supporting the movie. The film is currently going through revision.
'Udta Punjab' directed by Abhishek Sharma talks about the prevelant drug abuse in the state of Punjab. The film starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh is slated to release on June 17th.
