The upcoming season of the Netflix show will focus on the love story of another Bridgerton sibling.

After the success of the previous season, which centred on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), Netflix has finally confirmed Bridgerton 4. This time, the royal drama will focus on the love story of another Bridgerton sibling, i.e. Luke Thompson’s Benedict. On Tuesday, the OTT giant shared a short teaser, giving a glimpse into the character of Benedict Bridgerton. “Welcome to the marriage mart mr. bridgerton. benedict’s story is coming next season,” the caption read.

Following some of the sibling moments, the clip also includes a behind-the-scenes clip in which Thompson speaks about his costume for the masquerade ball, something that was teased in the season three finale. It will follow the events from Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel, An Offer From A Gentleman, which has Benedict searching for a “lady in silver” whom he met at a masquerade ball. Unknown to him, the woman named Sophie Beckett is actually a servant to a rude stepmother named Araminta Gunningworth.

The official logline for Bridgerton Season 4 read, “The fourth season of ‘Bridgerton’ turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down—until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”

Benedict Bridgerton’s Character In Season 4

Earlier in June, showrunner Jess Brownell confirmed that the lead hero will continue to “explore his fluidity” in the upcoming part.

“I knew that people out there had a feeling Benedict might be queer. And personally, it made sense to me. He’s not just open-minded, it’s that he seems like the type of person who wouldn’t be as concerned with gender—someone who might be more fluid and pansexual. He’s really attracted to someone’s spirit. And so it felt like we should make sense of those pieces that were in Seasons 1 and 2. That was what we were attempting to do with his storyline,” Brownell told Variety.

In the meantime, Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan are also expected to reprise their roles in season 4. Other characters likely to return include Kate, Anthony Bridgerton and Cressida Cowper. While Netflix is yet to confirm the release date for Bridgerton Season 4, it is set to have a total of eight episodes.
