Wednesday Season 2 FIRST Look Out: Jenna Ortega Returns, Tim Burton Teases 1st Episode | Watch Video

Jenna Ortega starrer Wednesday is officially returning for season 2. Director Tim Burton shared the news via Netflix’s official social media platforms on Tuesday. He added that they have kicked off the production. The filmmaker shared a picture from the sets featuring the returning and new cast. The series has confirmed that Jenna Ortega is not only returning in the titular role but is also doubling up as a producer for season 2. The picture was shared along with a video featuring Thing.

In the video, Thing carried the script of season 2 and handed it over to Wednesday. The cover of the script featured the text: “Wednesday, season 2. Chapter one: Here We Woe Again.” The script also revealed the first episode is written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and is directed by Tim Horton.

Netflix shared the picture with the caption, “Wednesday Season 2 is NOW IN PRODUCTION Please give a round of double snaps to our cast — now including Christopher Lloyd, Steve Buscemi, Thandiwe Newton, Joanna Lumley, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Billie Piper!”

Variety and Deadline reported that while Jenna, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo are returning for season 2, three actors from the first season are not returning. These include Percy Hynes White, Jamie McShane and Naomi J Ogawa. Percy was seen playing the role of Xavier Thorpe.

Meanwhile, the roles of the new cast members Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor are yet to be revealed. Steve Buscemi will also appear on the show. Speaking with Variety, series creators and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar said, “We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces.”

The first season of Wednesday was a massive success.
