Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are one of Hindi cinema’s most popular on-screen pairs. From 2006 to 2010, they delivered several hit films before reuniting in 2020 for Sooryavanshi. An old interview of Akshay praising Katrina’s dedication to her career has recently resurfaced. In the interview, Akshay talked about many things he admires about Katrina, especially her commitment to her work.
“She didn’t know a word of Hindi when she started working in Hindi cinema. I don’t know how she believed she would become a big heroine here. It is impossible to fathom, right? How can someone not know the language at all and become the heroine. But she did. I salute her for thinking that way,” said Akshay, as quoted by Indian Express.
Akshay Kumar praised Katrina Kaif for her dedication while working on Tees Maar Khan and the song “Sheila Ki Jawani.” He said she faced a tough challenge with the belly dancing but did an amazing job after weeks of practice. Akshay added that he would have tipped his hat to her if he had one. “Katrina faced a big challenge while filming Sheila ki jawani. She had to do belly dancing for the song. With three weeks of relentless practice, she danced so well for the song. If I was wearing a hat, I would have taken it off for her,” he had said.
Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar are one of Bollywood’s most popular on-screen pairs. Their chemistry lit up several hit films from 2006 to 2010, including Namastey London, Singh is Kinng, and Tees Maar Khan. They created memorable moments and popular songs, such as Sheila Ki Jawani. Even after a decade apart, their return in Sooryavanshi proved their on-screen magic is still strong. Their films together have made a big mark on Bollywood.
On the work front, Katrina was last seen in Merry Christmas, which released earlier this year. The actress will next be seen in Jee Le Zaraa, directed by Farhan Akhtar. The film will also star Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra. While the film was announced in 2021, it has been delayed for a while now. Akshay Kumar will be seen in Priyadarshan’s next horror-comedy film.
