Many films have gained massive viewership despite failing to leave their mark at the box office. Today, we are talking about one such must-watch thriller that is presently streaming on Netflix. The name of the film is The Body. The film features famous actors like Emraan Hashmi, Rishi Kapoor and Sobhita Dhulipala in leading roles. This film is a remake of a 2012 Spanish thriller movie also named The Body. The movie was released in the theatres back in 2019. It was released on Netflix on February 21, 2020. The film is currently streaming on the platform.
In the film, Emraan Hashmi played the role of Ajay Puri, while Rishi Kapoor was seen playing the role of SP Jairaj Rawal. Sobhita Dhulipala portrayed the role of Maya Verma. The story revolves around an investigation of a missing dead body. The dead body of a well-known businesswoman named Maya Verma, who lost her life due to a heart attack, went missing from the morgue before the autopsy. SP Jairaj Rawal, the investigating officer of the case, calls her husband Ajay Puri for questioning. Ajay was the owner of a lab and worked under Maya’s company.
As the story continues the police officer suspects Ajay and asks him to stay in the morgue until the dead body is found. As he waits there, several strange incidents start happening as Ajay starts to feel the presence of his dead wife. He even finds the bottle of toxin which he used to induce the heart attack that was experienced by Maya. As the story goes on Ajay starts to feel that Maya is alive and she is playing a game in order to take revenge on him. The story continues as the real story behind the incidents comes to light.
With unexpected twists and turns, and intense screenplays, this movie delivers a thrilling experience. The movie is directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Sunir Kheterpal.
