Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is currently going through a tough phase in his acting career. Except for last year’s release OMG 2, none of his films has left their mark at the box office. His recent film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which hit the theatres in April this year, also failed to perform at the box office. The film was made with a budget of Rs 350 crores but failed to even earn Rs 60 crores in India after its release. Recently, producer-director Vipul Shah has openly commented about Akshay Kumar’s recent failures.
Vipul Shah has worked with Akshay Kumar on several films that have performed marvellously at the box office. They together worked in films like Namastey London, Singh Is King, Aankhen and Waqt: The Race Against Time among others. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vipul Shah said, “We consider Sachin Tendulkar as the God of Cricket. He has gone through bad phases several times in his career. Many people might have given him advice regarding his playing style but he came out of it. So, we should also let Akshay get out of this tough phase.”
The veteran producer and director further added that he knows the industry better than many people. “I believe that an actor who has worked in more than 100 films understands the industry better than most of the people who are working here. I am sure that he is aware of his current track record. I don’t think he needs advice from someone like me,” he added.
Talking about his comeback, Vipul said, “He is much smarter and intelligent than me. I am confident that he will make a comeback soon and start delivering some blockbuster films as he has been doing for so many years. Advising such a senior person in the industry would be a foolish thing to do. He will surely make his comeback on his own.”
Akshay Kumar will be seen in a series of films that will be released soon. Some of his lined-up films are Housefull 5, Jolly LLB 3, Hera Pheri 3 and Singham Again.
