BTS’ Jungkook Admits He Finds Microwaves Scary, Feels They Can Explode
While Jungkook can sing, dance and fearlessly perform in packed stadiums, the Golden Maknae expressed that he’s afraid of microwaves.

BTS member Jungkook is currently on cloud nine since the release of his solo album Golden, which came out on November 3. As part of the album’s promotion, the 26-year-old South Korean artist recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. During the interview, Jungkook discussed various aspects of his music and personal life, however, when he revealed an unexpected fear, it captured everyone’s attention. While he can sing, dance and fearlessly perform in front of large crowds, the Golden Maknae expressed that he’s afraid of microwaves. This confession left his followers in stitches but he also received love from many.

During a segment on the show, the host asked the singer, “What is the scariest thing in the world?” and revealed a text response from the BTS member, where he had written, “Microwave: I always worry if it will explode.” This unexpected answer made everyone along with Jimmy laugh. In response to this, JK explained, “When I was young, I used to be afraid, I’m still afraid.” While Jimmy added, “I guess it’s a little frightening because I don’t really understand it?”

To make the situation more hilarious, Jungkook imitated the sound of an explosion with a ‘boom.’ Jimmy Fallon then added, “Nothing is going to happen, you’ll be fine with the microwave, but I don’t understand how it does get warmer but maybe I’ll research that and I’ll learn.”

Other than his fear of microwaves, Jungkook also has other fears, including elevators and things that pop, like fireworks or balloons. As per Kareebo, he always hides his face when someone pops balloons in front of him. Despite these fears, the Golden Maknae continues to impress and deliver outstanding performances on stage for his dedicated ARMYs.

Meanwhile, Jungkook also performed on album’s title track, Standing Next To You on Jimmy Fallon’s show, for which he even received a standing ovation and left fans thrilled. The album, Golden features a total of 11 tracks, including collaborations with prominent Western artists like Shawn Mendes, DJ Snake, Ed Sheeran and others.

Further, the singer expressed his desire to go on a world tour as a solo artist during the interview with Jimmy Fallon. However, he stated, “I don’t think I have enough songs for that. So I want to complement them more and make more songs and maybe when I’m ready I can do the world tour in full swing. On November 20, I’m having a concert. It will also be live-streamed. I hope people look forward to it.”

Apart from Standing Next To You, Golden’s tracklist includes Closer to You, Yes or No, Please Don’t Change, Hate You, Somebody, Too Sad to Dance and Shot Glass of Tears.
