Devara: Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor And Saif Ali Khan's Film To Release In Two Parts, Makers Reveal Release Date

Actor Jr NTR broke into the pan-India scene in a grand manner with SS Rajamouli’s RRR last year. Since then, fans have been awaiting his next project with bated breath, not only in the Telugu states but all over India. His upcoming film Devara, which was previously referred to as NTR30, is now the focus of attention. The film, directed by Koratala Siva, is about a fishing town and has Jr NTR in dual roles. He will be reportedly portraying both father and son on screen. Besides him, the film also stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. As per a recent update, the makers of Devara have revealed that the film will be released in two parts.

On Wednesday, Koratala Siva, the director of Devara updated the fans about the release date of his magnum opus, along with a roadmap that the film will be taking. In a video addressing everyone, the film-maker said, “I am here to share an interesting update about the film. As I said earlier, the film is set in the backdrop of the forgotten lands of Coastal India. The canvas is too big. As we started shooting the film, it started getting bigger and bigger and every character in the film has got its own weight. They need to be explored and established in depth and detail, which we can’t justify in one part. So we took a decision to tell this big story in two parts. The story won’t change in shape but will thrive in scale. So I am here to share this news that one of the biggest canvas ever of Devara will be done in two parts. And April 5th is just the beginning.”

As per reports, Devara is being made on a huge budget. If reports are to be believed, the film is spending a whopping Rs 140 crore on its VFX. The rumour mill is rife that the makers are spending 33 per cent of the movie’s original budget on special effects. There has been no confirmation about these reports, though.

Devara will mark Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in South films and her first-ever collaboration with Jr NTR. Just like RRR, this Telugu movie will reportedly have high-octane action sequences that are expected to blow away the minds of the audience. As per the latest update about the shoot, an underwater sequence is being shot by Jr NTR. As per reports, he has been training himself to shoot underwater sequences, which will be a key part of the movie’s premise. Reportedly, Koratala Siva is quickly trying to wrap up the action shots of the movie, so that the technical team gets ample time to focus on the VFX.

Devara marks Jr NTR’s 30th film. The movie will also star other actors like Saif Ali Khan and Ramya Krishna. There are reports that actress Chaitra Rai will be joining the star cast. The movie is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts. The music composition will be done by Anirudh Ravichander. The movie is gearing up for its grand release on April 5, 2024.
