Govinda Said Salman, SRK 'Sidelined' Him, Recalls Pahlaj Nihalani, Says 'David Dhawan Spread Hate...'
Pahlaj Nihalani reveals why he stopped working with Govinda for several years. Both reunited for Rangeela Raja

Pahlaj Nihalani, former chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification, is well known for his films like Aankhen, Andaz, and many more. In a conversation with an entertainment portal, the film producer opened up about his relationship with Govinda and why he stopped working with him. He blamed the actor’s Bollywood conspiracy theories about Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan affected their equation. To note, Govinda back in time has Bollywood has sidelined him.

Talking to Bollywood Thikana, Pahlaj revealed why he was not working with Govinda for several years. “David Dhawan created a misunderstanding. He felt that alone was responsible for my hits, and when I started working with Anil Kapoor, he felt betrayed. So, he started backbiting about me to Govinda. He spread hate about me; actors would come and tell me what he was saying. We went our separate ways. Govinda even abandoned a film we were doing together because of what David said to him; we had already started shooting, I had to finish it with different actors,” he was quoted saying in Hindi as mentioned by The Indian Express.

After a long time Pahlaj and Govinda reunited for Rangeela Raja. He said, “It was a remake of a Rajinikanth film, and Govinda did a fabulous job in it. In my opinion, he did a better job than even Rajinikanth, and I was sure he’d win some awards. But just before the release, he went and started ‘rona-dhona’ in the press about being sidelined by the industry. He said Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were responsible. At the last minute, my shows were cancelled. And look at him now, ghar pe baitha hai (he’s twiddling his thumbs at home).”

Govinda is one of the most famous actors of 90s. He has delivered many hits at the Box office including Love 86, Hatya, Hum, Do Qaidi and many more. Well, he was last seen in the 2021 comedy-drama Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai, directed by Ravi Chopra.
