Kareena Kapoor Khan recently addressed the long-standing speculations of an alleged feud with Priyanka Chopra, dismissing such claims as “rubbish.” These two beloved Bollywood actors were often portrayed as rivals during the 2000s, and their interactions in the public eye did little to dispel this notion. Both Kareena and Priyanka had earlier appeared individually on the popular talk show Koffee with Karan, where they seemed to exchange subtle jabs at each other. However, a few years down the line, they shared the same couch on the show, indicating a substantial improvement in the duo’s relationship with each other.
In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor categorically denied ever engaging in the alleged catfights with Priyanka. Nonetheless, she candidly admitted to making “foolish” statements during her younger years. She emphasised that her perspective has evolved over time, particularly since becoming a wife and mother, while enjoying a successful career. When asked about any lingering tension with Priyanka, Kareena responded with a clear, “Not at all! Rubbish. I was like, ‘What is going on?’,” reports mid-day.
Reflecting on her earlier years, Kareena Kapoor acknowledged her ambition but clarified that she was not “fiercely ambitious”.
She stated, “You’re constantly just rushing and trying to prove yourself. It’s a different kind of energy. I should have just chilled out, and taken a breath. You say foolish things and take foolish decisions, but that’s also a part of the person I am today.”
“In the 2000s, everyone was having a catfight. Today, we don’t even hear such things. Who knows, they might be happening, but things are a lot more chilled out. But maybe we had that energy of just wanting to prove ourselves. But that attitude didn’t last, and you learn through that,” she added.
When asked about her newfound tranquillity, she attributed it to age, saying, “It was just age. As I entered my 30s, I just felt a lot more relaxed. I found a relationship, so you balance your energies out. That also helped. And giving a string of successes.”
Before Kareena, during their joint appearance on Koffee with Karan in 2019, Priyanka had also addressed the reported feud between them. She had said, “I think we didn’t even know each other. We never spent time enough with each other. By the time we did, we really started to get along. But till we didn’t do that, it was just weird energy created by people.”
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor recently made her OTT debut with the mystery thriller Jaane Jaan, alongside actors Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. Meanwhile, Priyanka ventured into the world of TV series earlier this year with the American thriller, Citadel. In this series, she shares the screen with Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci, and Ashleigh Cummings.
