Nayanthara is basking in the success of Jawan, which also marked her debut in Bollywood. Masses and critics have appreciated the actress for her stellar performance in the Atlee directorial. Cast alongside Shah Rukh Khan for the first time, Nayanthara was superb as the dauntless cop. And her action sequences with SRK were simply a treat to watch. Now, with Jawan nearing a month-long rule in the theaters, Nayanthara seems to have shifted her focus on her upcoming projects. Presently, the Lady Superstar of South Indian cinema is gearing up for the release of director I Ahmed’s Tamil-language psychological action thriller, titled Iraivan. She will be sharing screen space opposite Jayam Ravi.
Excited about Iraivan’s release on September 28, Nayanthara dropped the film’s poster on Instagram, sharing the good news a day ago. “Iraivan from tomorrow. 28.09.2023" she captioned the post, adding two smiley and a red heart emoji. The poster captures a romantic setting with Nayanthara leaning onto Jayam Ravi at an outdoor premises. She held Jayam’s hand affectionately. Both were seated on a motorbike and sported subtle smiles on their faces.
Social media users were quick to react to Nayanthara’s post in the comment section. “There is something in the Jayam Ravi – Nayan combo" noted one user. Another confident fan expressed, “Female Superstar Nayanthara’s Iraivan Will Superhit." Wishing Nayanthara “best of luck" for Iraivan, a third individual commented, “One More Blockbuster Movie Iraivan After Jawan.. best of luck." Others displayed their appreciation by dropping multiple red heart emojis.
When Iraivan’s trailer was dropped by the makers on September 3, it generated much hype among the masses. Talented actor Rahul Bose essays the negative character of a psychotic killer in the film. He has been labelled as the Smiley Killer for his strategic assassination. Jayam Ravi will be slipping into the shoes of a police officer who believes that justice can only be established if criminals are eliminated. Iraivan revolves around the nail-biting chase between the cop and the killer. Reportedly, Nayanthara will be playing the role of Jayam’s on-screen wife. The trailer promises a gritty and gory crime thriller that is likely to keep the audience on the edge.
Produced collaboratively by Sudhan Sundaram and Jayaram G, Iraivan will be released under the banners of Passion Studios. Apart from Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara, the film also stars Azhagam Perumal, Bagavathi Perumal, Ashish Vidyarthi Vijayalakshmi, and Narain among others.
