Ranbir Kapoor opened up about his father, late Rishi Kapoor and his death. The actor, who will seen Animal that revolves around a father-son relationship, appeared on Unstoppable with NBK and spoke about Rishi. Ranbir admitted he was never close to Rishi in his growing up years. He said that he respected him as a father but they never shared a friendly bond. He also confessed he hasn’t fully processed Rishi’s death.
Ranbir Kapoor About His Bond With Rishi Kapoor:
Ranbir was speaking about Animal when he brought up his bond with his father, Rishi Kapoor. He said, “While growing up, I was not close to my father. My relationship with my father was how his relationship with his father was. There was always love and respect but there was always distance. I think somewhere all father-son chemistry in India is a bit dicey. I really connected with that part of the story.”
Ranbir Kapoor Talks About Rishi Kapoor’s Death:
Rishi Kapoor died in April 2020. Although Ranbir has undergone several changes in life, turned husband and father, he confesed he is yet to come to terms with Rishi’s death. “I think the loss of a parent is always the biggest low in a person’s life. So when I lost my father a couple of years ago… I don’t think I have still understood the loss. Because you know being a son… since the time you are born, you are always taught to be strong. You don’t express and say much. So I don’t know if I have really expressed my father’s loss yet to myself or to my loved ones.”
Rishi Kapoor’s Death:
Rishi Kapoor died on April 30. He was battling with leukemia before his death. The funeral was attended by selected family members owing to the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
