Soundarya Rajinikanth Gives A Shout Out To Jigarthanda Double X Team

Director and producer Soundarya Rajinikanth recently expressed her admiration for the newly released Tamil film Jigarthanda Double X. The daughter of Superstar Rajinikanth lauded the film as brilliant and extended appreciation to director Karthik Subbaraj, actor Raghav Lawrence, S J Suryah, DOP Thirunavukarasu, and music composer Santhosh Narayanan in her post on X. Jigarthanda Double X is a Tamil action comedy film that graced the screens on November 10. This film stands as a sequel to Karthik Subbaraj’s previous blockbuster, Jigarthanda, released in 2014.

Jigarthanda Double X reportedly shares many similarities with its prequal. The previous film’s narrative revolved around an aspiring filmmaker striving to create a film centered on a gangster. In this installment, viewers witness a filmmaker infiltrating the inner circle of a gangster under the guise of making a film, with his true intention being to kill him.

However, it has not been an easy money-minting day for Jigarthanda Double X. The Tamil cinema witnessed a significant clash on November 10 this year, with the simultaneous release of another prominent film, namely, Japan. Both films boast impressive casts, with Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah headlining the action-comedy, while Raju Murugan directed Japan featured Karthi.

Presently, Raghava Lawrence’s film is experiencing notable success, while the revenue of Karthi’s starrer lags behind. Interestingly, both films also faced competition from Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, released on November 12, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.

According to Sacnilk, Jigarthanda Double X demonstrated robust performance in its initial three days, amassing Rs 15.57 crore as net earnings across India. On the fourth day, the film is estimated to have garnered Rs 7.10 crore in net earnings for all language releases. The film also had an overall 56.45% Tamil occupancy on Monday, November 13.
