After Virat Kohli picked up his 5th ODI wicket, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav also got the chance to bowl against the Netherlands, as India closed in on a ninth consecutive World Cup win.

It was a memorable outing for the Indian team against the Netherlands in Bengaluru as the Men in Blue stamped their authority in the World Cup contest. Crowd favourite Virat Kohli delivered a special Diwali gift to the nation when he picked up only his fifth ODI wicket to dismiss Dutch captain Scott Edwards.

Kohli had bowled earlier in the tournament to complete Hardik Pandya’s over when the all-rounder twisted his ankle against Bangladesh, in Pune. The 3-ball spell got the entire crowd roaring and it was the turn for the Bengaluru folks to cheer as Virat picked up his fifth ODI wicket, on Sunday.

With the result of the match very much in the favour of the Men in Blue, Indian captain Rohit Sharma decided to give the chance to Virat Kohli to roll his arm. With Pandya ruled out, India no longer have the luxury of a sixth bowler.
