The players auction for the next season of the Indian Premier League will be held on December 19 in Dubai.

Cricketers from around the world hoping to put up their names for the upcoming IPL mini auction have to register for the same by Thursday.

The players auction for the next season will be held on December 19 in Dubai, the first time the event is being held outside India.

All 10 franchises recently announced the list of players they have retained before the auction with several big names let go of including the likes of Ben Stokes (unavailable), Jofra Archer, Josh Hazlewood, Harry Brook, Lockie Ferguson among others.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, November 30 is the deadline for the players to get No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from their respective cricket boards and register for the auction.

Several big names are expected to be available and go under the hammer including Australia’s world cup winning captain Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Travis Head, Rachin Ravindra among others.

As per the reports, over 700 players are expected to make themselves available for the auction.

A total of 77 slots are vacant across the 10 franchises.

Hardik Pandya’s return to Mumbai Indians has hit the headlines with the star allrounder returning to the franchise where his ‘cricketing journey’ began after he was picked as an uncapped player during the 2015 auction.

With Pandya’s arrival from Gujarat Titans, MI traded Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore.

GT, who became the champions in their debut season in 2021 under Pandya’s captaincy have named rising star Shubman Gill as their new skipper ahead of the next season.

The likes of Stokes and Joe Root have withdrawn from the next season while there’s no certainty over the availability of fast bowler Jofra Archer who has been battling injuries for a while now.

GT enter the auction with the biggest purse of Rs 38.15 crore followed by Kolkata Knight Riders (Rs 32.7 crore) and Chennai Super Kings (Rs 31.4 crore).
