'Lot of Cricket Left in Him': Sachin Tendulkar Reckons India Superstar Isn't Done Yet
Sachin Tendulkar has lavished praise on Virat Kohli who recently surpassed him for most ODI centuries.

With another ODI World Cup coming to an end and with several India stars in their mid thirties now, speculations are rife which way the team management is looking ahead considering the challenges ahead.

Will the seniors be phased out to build a team for the future or will they continue to be part of the setup keeping in mind the 2024 T20 World Cup and the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.

Several former cricketers think the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should be part of India’s plans for the next T20 World Cup even though neither has played in a T20I since last year.

Reports further claim that Kohli has asked to be rest from the white-ball matches of India’s South Africa tour that starts next month.

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar though reckons that Kohli still has a lot to offer to the Indian cricket.

Kohli surpassed Tendulkar during the ODI World Cup to become the all-time leading century maker in the format.

“I have seen Virat even before he played for India. And then I have seen him grow from a youngster,” Tendulkar told ESPNCricinfo.

“And then the same player goes on achieve such wonderful things for the country. I am so pleased that he has been able to do that and I am very sure that the journey has not stopped. There is a lot of cricket left in him and lot of runs left in him. Lot of hunger and desire to achieve more for the country,” he added.

Tendulkar says he’s happy that the record has been broken by an Indian.

“I am so happy that the record continues to stay with India. I have always said that the record belongs to India and still does,” he said.

Kohli finished the ODI World Cup with over 700 runs and was declared player-of-the-tournament.
