Uttar Pradesh’s young wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has being given a maiden India call-up for the first two Tests against England starting January 25. After consistent performances in domestic cricket for the past couple of years, Jurel has been rewarded.
He made his IPL debut last season for Rajasthan Royals where he impressed everyone with his ability to strike the ball a long way. He played a few impactful cameos for the Royals while batting low down the order and became an integral part of their set-up.
He played 13 matches last season and scored 152 runs at an excellent strike-rate of 172.73. which led to RR retaining him for the upcoming IPL too.

After IPL 2023, Jurel career graph only went high as he was picked in the squad for the Emerging Teams Asia Cup where and he impressed with his batting there as well.
Jurel was picked in the India A squad and travelled to South Africa.
The 22-year-old is also part of the team which will clash against England Lions in the first multi-day fixture in Ahmedabad, starting January 17.

He had made a 69 in the second unofficial Test against South Africa at Benoni and more recently made a 63 for UP against Kerala in a first round group game of the Ranji Trophy at Alappuzha.
Jurel, who had made his First-class debut last year against Vidarbha, has so far made 790 runs from 15 matches at an average of 46 with a hundred and five fifties in the domestic circuit.
The first Test will be played at Hyderabad from January 25 and the second match will be held at Visakhapatnam from February 2.
