Two persons died after the Swift car in which they were sitting caught fire in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida early Saturday morning.
According to chief fire officer, Pradeep Kumar Chaubey, the fire department received a call at 6:25 am from a resident of a society in Sector 119 about a white Swift car ablaze on the main road outside Amrapali Platinum residential society in Sector 119.

“Immediately, a firefighter team was rushed to the spot and fire was doused. Two male bodies were recovered from inside the car. It was a petrol car with a Ghaziabad registration number,” Chaubey said.
The deceased are yet to be identified and the bodies have been sent to the mortuary for postmortem, said Shakti Avasthy, additional deputy commissioner of police, Noida.
Forensic and technical teams arrived on the spot, and an investigation into the incident has been launched, added Avasthy.
“As per CCTV footage around the area, the car was seen outside the society at 6:08 am and by 6:11 am. It burst into flames on its own. No other person can be seen around the car at the time,” he added.

In September 2023, two brothers were killed and three other persons sustained injuries after a car they were travelling in caught fire in Mumbai.
According to a PTI report, the incident took place at around 4:00 am on B A Road in the Matunga area after the CNG car hit a road divider when the occupants of the vehicles were returning after having a party.
The car suddenly burst into flames and its occupants did not get time to get out of the vehicle, a fire official said.
