New Delhi: Former telecom minister A Raja on Monday refused to accept court summons in the 2G spectrum allocation case citing a technicality. He rejected the summons while his statement was being recorded in the case. Raja, accused in the 2G scam case, told the Enforcement Directorate officer that a copy of the chargesheet must be given to him along with the summons.
A special CBI court hearing the 2G spectrum case on Monday started recording statement of Raja. He was handed over 1,700 questions running into 824 pages March 27 by the court.
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate had filed a chargesheet against Raja and DMK chief M Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi in the case in April 2014. The chargesheet was filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Raja was arrested on February 2, 2011 for alleged involvement in the case and had been in the jail for 15 months. He is out on bail.
The money laundering case pertains to the alleged illegal routing of Rs 200 crore to DMK family-run Kalaignar TV.
