AAP takes to music to strike a chord with voters at 'Jeet Ki Goonj'
AAP's music concert saw big names from the industry including Vishal Dadlani, Ranvir Shorey and Rabbi Shergill.

New Delhi: Revelations, press conferences, rallies and now it is music concerts that Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party has taken to for wooing voters. AAP's open for all music concert 'Jeet ki goonj' on Saturday evening saw huge crowds wearing the AAP caps and roaring 'vote for AAP' with the music.

The music concert had big young voices from Bollywood showing their support for AAP and singing their way to seek votes for AAP. The line up of stars was one that young Hindi music lovers would not want to miss out on. Vishal Dadlani, Kavita Seth, Aditi Singh Sharma, Shruti Pathak, Rabbi Shergill and many others used the magic of their best numbers to keep the crowd glued and make it cheer for AAP.

Not just music, the concert had speeches from Kejriwal and Kumar Vishwas too. Kumar Vishwas during his speech took potshots at not just the Congress and the BJP, but also individually at party leaders like Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Cogress Vice President Rahul Gandhi. He called the Delhi election a 'Ram vs Raavan' battle from the mythological book 'Ramayana'. He even challenged media houses who had carried out sting operations on AAP. "The day AAP wins, one TV channel is going to say no elections happened in Delhi and there are no results," he said taking a dig at one of the channels. The crowd cheered loud and supported each word even if it was meant to be a personal attack. Some in the crowd in fact said 'once more' when a band mocked Sheila Dikshit during a song.

People's enthusiasm was at its peak when Kejriwal took the stage. Kejriwal yet again said that all the attacks on AAP were a handiwork of the Congress and the BJP and that the two parties were hand-in-glove. There were close to a thousand people at the venue, Jantar Mantar, at the time when Kejriwal spoke. The crowd cheered louder during his speech.

Speeches apart, the crowd indeed got its bit of music too. When Kavita Seth and Aditi Singh Sharma sang their Bollywood numbers 'Tumhi ho bandhu' and 'Dilli Dilli', one could see not just hands, but jhadoos (broomsticks) waving too.

The party said none of these stars took any money to perform at the concert. The singers and actors said they were there to support a change. "We all need a change and AAP is giving us that hope that change is possible," said singer Kavita Seth. Actor Ranvir Shorey added, "It's time to look at issues and not just demean each other like the Congress and the BJP too." When asked about Kumar Vishwas taking to personal attacks, Shorey said, " Personally, I do not vouch for personal attacks, but AAP is a party looking at issues and I support that."

Vishal Dadlani, who has been an ardent supporter of AAP, even on Twitter, said, "AAP is not like other parties who just deny allegations. When questions wer raised on AAP's funding, I personally spoke to them and they showed me the details of all their accounts. I would trust such a party that is ready to give answers to our questions." Rabbi Shergill added, "I would rather support a party that gives me hope."

But when asked if any of them was ready to join AAP as a politician, they all said no. They said music was their way of bringing that change and so they were doing what they are best at. "Music bridges all the gaps and therefore, it's one of the best tools of making people aware," said Aditi Singh Sharma.

There was no entry fee for the AAP concert. If one was wearing an AAP cap, they were let inside the venue. Even as the performers represented the youth, the crowd had men and women of all age groups.

An AAP Jharkhand member, Digambar Saha, who was wearing a huge cap made of a jhadoo, was the main attraction in the crowd. "AAP will definitely win and the voting percentage in Delhi will be above 80 per cent this time," he said. Whether the huge crowds really translate into votes for this party making its debut is something that will be decided when Delhi votes and the results are out on December 8.
