Q. The fact that he will head the Poll panel means he will contribute to party at national level. Why was the senior 's opposition so strong that has left him to vacate all seats of position? Asked by: sundar1950in
A. I still feel the entire issue could have been handled better by all concerned.
Q. Would the BJP accept the Resignation of Advani ji? The timing of this event would present the opposition some material to show BJP in poor light and specifically Adnvani ji. Asked by: Ashis Panda
A. Difficult to speculate on this subject. But I feel the matter will be sorted out soon.
Q. An orator, good communicator, large following, delivering leader -NaMo- - Autocrat - Hinduvta programmed - Allegations. How will the misgivings of allegations get corrected by nano? Asked by: sundar1950in
A. There is too much hype about one individual. The BJP has many leaders of high merit. Modi is only heading one of the committees, certainly an important one.
Q. Mr Advani activities looks he is bigger than BJP party? Asked by: hari
A. No not at all. But is not Advani ji one of the tallest leaders?
Q. Is there a likely fall out of Advani's resignation from posts in BJP? Asked by: sundar1950in
A. I don't think there will be a serious fall out. Everyone concerned is senior and all are equally concerned about the welfare of the party and the country.
Q. Today BJP facing more embarrassment than ever, Mr Advani telling BJP my way or no way? Asked by: hari
A. I don't think that would be the right interpretation.
Q. Hi, will MODI concentrate on Kerala, west Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and North-East states, where BJP has minimal presence. Wt about Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh? Asked by: suresh
A. Modi will not be alone in this effort. Modi's qualities will be put to better use at all India level. The party is strong in all these states. The BJP needs a better and new strategy.
Q. For BJP, although they claim they have plethora of national leaders, actually they are worse off then congress, infighting is as rampant as is in congress... Today they have chosen Modi in can't but situation? Asked by: S ESHWAR
A. BJP is an ideologically oriented party. The Congress is like the "family business". This difference will remain.
Q. NaMo proved himself of his capability post EQ and before Godhra Incidents. Godhra train incident and following incidents are a blot on Gujarat. When Gujarat has come out of it why the media still having biased stories to Discredit NaMo. Asked by: sundar1950in
A. Modi and the party has answered this question many times. The Congress has no other agenda than creating a communal divide. So they need the 2002 incident to be kept alive.
Q. In a way difference of opinions having come in the open and thrashed out it will be clear to the party and Public where the BJP ideology shift has gone. Will this help in converting the same to increased votes in the General elections? Asked by: sundar1950in
A. BJP was never afraid of differences of opinion. It is a democratic party. As far as converting support to vote is concerned, the grass root level workers are more important than the leaders.
Q. If that was the case, BJP should have used him whole hog in Karnataka, whether he was to be elevated or not. They knew even his magic would not work. Every one place safe, they too played the same game. Asked by: S ESHWAR
A. I agree. One person can not turn the tide very easily in politics. But Modi was introduced very late in Karnataka, probably.
Q. Mr Advani said he resigning because people works for personnel agenda, what Mr Advani is doing is not personal agenda? Asked by: hari
A. He has said it before also. I don't think he means any one individual in the party. It seems to be a generalised comment.
Q. BJP is known for collective leadership while Mr Modi has a reputation of being authoritarian. Do you expect the party character to change? Asked by: Kamal Agg
A. The BJP still has a track record of being a party known for collective decision. Every one has a streak of authoritarianism in him/her.
Q. In politics, with power and seats comes allies. Do you see parties like BSP, TMC, JMM who like to be with every alliance that is at the centre be easy to get into NDA that likes of JDU, BJD, TDP who look for a so called secular credentials in a PM. Asked by: Ujjwal Ingolikar
A. This entire debate about "secular" credentials is bogus. Every political party works on communal, caste and other divisive lines. Once the BJP emerges a single largest party, every party will come and join the NDA.
Q. How about getting Jayalalithaa into NDA and saying bye bye to Nitish Kumar? Asked by: Ameya Pawar
A. These are questions that will be best answered after the elections.
Q. Being a BJP supporter, I have a concern when thousands of migrants in my sector who are absolutely enthused over Modi's elevation but who do not care to change their voting constituency. Thus their enthusiasm means absolutely nothing in the end since they do not go out and vote. Do you see this as a major problem for a man like Modi that actual energy wouldn't be translated in votes? Is this something that the BJP needs to focus at? Asked by: Ujjwal Ingolikar
A. People come out to vote due to many reasons. The leadership, workers' strength and hopes about the party are some of them. BJP+Modi+worker's enthusiasm seems to be a good combination.
Q. What is the expectation of BJP from Narendra Modi now as panel chief? Asked by: Yuvraj
A. Implement the party's strategy and work in a team for the party's success.
Q. If Modi is able to penetrate in the states where BJP does not have presence like in Kerela TM north east then his elevation to this post will be a good decision. Asked by: Gajraj
A. BJP's victory in these states will be decided by the hard work and right strategy in these states. One person can not work wonders.
Q. With BJP now as chief is BJP elected to cross 200+ no in 2014? Asked by: Gaura
A. The BJP is in a better position to cross 200 seats in Parliament. But there are many challenges that the party will have to face.
Q. Do you think BJP misses a leader such as Vajpayee..incredible he was I must say. Asked by: niki
A. Yes, such persons will always be missed. But the party has to go on.

A. Obviously. The party is free to take corrective measures any time.
Q. I recall my father quite enthusiastic about "party with a difference" in late 80s and early 90s. He was very optimistic that this is one party which can give India its much deserved path. But now when i talk to him, his candid admission is that it has become like any other party of India, although relatively better. Mr Chari, with due respect to you, don't you think BJP is getting carried away by desperate desire to come to power and it should look within and be strong on its principles? Asked by: Neel Kamal Singh
A. The very idea of "party with a difference" was articulated by Advani ji. The turn of events are unfortunate. I hope the party reverts to the basic core principles, which I am sure it will. Even as it is today the party is likely to come to power but will have to be very careful.
Q. I still hoped for Modi in some important role at the centre and Advaniji or Sushma swaraj as a PM candidate..By next elections Modi being a PM candidate. BJP did fight with Advaniji at the helm for 2 elections. Sadly BJP lost..How much do you think it will affect BJP and how congress makes the most use of it? Asked by: Manoj
A. The BJP fought the earlier elections on the strength of its performance. I think the party will have to put up a united face and go for elections.
Q. Has Narendra Modi now become single face of BJP..everywhere its halla of Narendra Modi. There is no other leader in BJP who can lift the party. Asked by: acharya
A. Such a perception is bad for the party. The party will have to correct this perception. BJP has many leaders and more importantly, a cadre based ideologically oriented party.
Q. Mr Chari, Why not let Mr Advani go? He played quite a negative role in Karnataka and BJP lost that election badly. And definitely he has not contributed lately to any positive event in BJP. Why not let him go from BJP? Asked by: Raghu
A. It would be wrong to say such a thing about Advani ji. He did not play any negative role. But his fears about the party will be answered and the issue will be resolved.
Q. Recent events shows that BJP is party with too many differences...do you agree if not then why? Please do not repeat congress dynastic and BJP ideology nonsense. Asked by: No-Nonsense Indian
A. The fact is Congress IS a DYNASTIC party and BJP is democratic. It is difficult to understand the working of the BJP unless one is part of its working. Yet, the party needs a good adviser on perception management.
Q. Sir,quite happy with the anointment of Narendra Modi. Even though the media projected differences in the party, the decision was taken. This far far far better than the indecision from the govt at the center. Sir, Will such decisive and strong approach continue and remain if the party comes to power and inspite of alliance pressures Asked by: Narayan
A. The BJP has to work hard, devise a strong strategy and do better perception management. I think the party will lead the NDA in 2014 elections. Many other parties will eventually join the NDA.
Q. Will BJP's over confidence on Modi will backfire Asked by: Manish
A. Overconfidence in politics or business is bad. But like in business, in politics too the truth is "greater the risk better the profit".
Q. If Not Narendra Modi then who else was capable enough for this post Asked by: Manoj
A. There are many leaders in the party. Has not the BJP won elections before Modi? But the party thinks Modi is a better candidate to perform in this capacity now.
Q. Is Modi's elevation going to increase the no of seats of BJP..is BJP confident of this?
Asked by: Rohit
A. BJP's seats will not increase due to one individual. But Modi's campaign could be a catalyst for greater seats.
Q. Is this a step ahead of Narenda Modi to be PM candidate? Asked by: Rakka
A. I think the PM candidate will be decided on a number of other factors. It all depends on how many seats the BJP gets.
