Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana pledged the Telugu pride in Delhi streets.
"Both the leaders are doing Udigam (drudgery) to AICC president Sonia Gandhi," Naidu said.
"The Chief Minister is turning to Sonia for each and everything. When farmers sought seed, Kiran Kumar Reddy said he would ask Sonia. The chief minister himself recently said he announced interestfree loans for women's self help groups only after getting the approval of Sonia," Naidu said.
Addressing a meeting of TNTUC, Naidu recalled that the TDP was founded by NT Rama Rao to uphold the selfrespect of Telugus. It is only the TDP, which has been uncompromisingly fighting against the Congress since its inception. The Praja Rajyam Party was already merged with the Congress. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi is in waiting for merger, the TDP chief said.
Ridiculing Chiranjeevi, Naidu said, "We are reading news reports about the erstwhile PRP president getting a post. Where is the social justice of Chiranjeevi?"
"The YSR Congress is also in a compromising mood. If the cases against YS Jaganmohan Reddy are dropped, then he will certainly merge his party with the Congress," Naidu said, while claiming that the TDP is the only alternative to the Congress in the state.
Naidu exuded confidence that the TDP would emerge victorious in the next elections. The TDP is known for good governance and transparent administrations and it will deliver the same if it comes to power in the next elections. "My dream is to see a society without poverty," Naidu said.
Later, TNTUC president G Rambabu and other executive members took oath in the presence of Naidu.
