BJP Barmer row simmers, Jaswant's MLA son to skip Vasundhara meet
There are speculations that the decision to give Barmer ticket to Col Sona Ram was taken following the recommendations by Vasundhara.

New Delhi: With reports abuzz about Jaswant Singh quitting the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday, his son and Barmer MLA Manavendra Singh has decided not to attend a meeting called by Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over the Barmer Lok Sabha seat row.

While the BJP snubbed the veteran leader giving away the Barmer ticket to Colonel Sona Ram Choudhary, there are speculations that the decision was taken following the recommendations by Vasundhara.

The Rajasthan CM has called a meeting with all the MLAs on Sunday to discuss the crisis.

Jaswant Singh, 76, had expressed his willingness to contest from his home town Barmer saying that it would be his last Lok Sabha election, instead the BJP decided to put him up from Dahod in Gujarat. After BJP refused his demand, sources are saying that a miffed Singh is likely to quit the party and contest as an Independent.
